Tray Icon saves the Day

The IncrediMail icon in the system tray located at the bottom right corner of your screen enables you to do a multitude of tasks even without any IncrediMail windows opened. Right-clicking on the icon will let you do anything from selecting a new Notifier to opening a New Message. The icon itself indicates your email status.
If you see these icons then:

  • you have no new messages
  • IncrediMail is checking your accounts for new mail.
  • new email has arrived.

Even more than that, if you roll your mouse over the icon in your system tray, a dynamic tool tip will pop up offering detailed status of your incoming mail. With this icon, you won't even have to open your IncrediMail manager anymore!

Tell Your IncrediMail When to Check Mail

Did you know that you can determine the frequency of checking new mail? IncrediMail's default to receive new mail is set for "15 minutes" but if that is too often or not enough times than you are able to adjust the rate at which it connects to your server. Just click on the Notifier button in the main window of IncrediMail and adjust the number of minutes that IncrediMail will automatically send and receive your emails. You can even uncheck the entire field and stop IncrediMail from automatically checking for new mail altogether.

    Cleaning your Auto-Complete list

So, you sent someone an email a few weeks ago. That doesn't mean you have to see that email address displayed in the Automatic Complete list forever. The names you see in the list are people you sent emails to and for your convenience were saved in the Automatic Complete list. If you wish to clean your list, you can use the down arrow on your keyboard to select a name and the "Delete" key to remove it from the list. Just keep in mind that you will only be able to remove the purple names. If the email addresses in the list are black or blue they are located in your Address Book and will remain a permanent part of your Automatic Complete list unless you remove them directly from the Address Book.

Download it ALL, all at once

If you fancy a whole collection in the IncrediMail Gallery be it Letters, Animations, Sounds, Ecards or Notifiers, in addition to downloading them one by one, there is a more efficient way called "Download Entire Collection". Just click on the:
at the top of each collection and watch as all of your new content gets downloaded all at once.

    Switch your Identity

Do you hate sharing your Inbox with the whole family? Do you feel it infringes on your privacy? Well, IncrediMail has just the solution for you! The "Multiple Identity" platform keeps everyone out of your email space by enabling every single one of your family members their own private IncrediMail environment. By opening a "New Identity", each individual can enjoy their own private Inbox, Address Book, Signature, etc. It's like having several IncrediMail programs on your PC for the price of one download - and it's free! All you have to do is select "Identities" from the File menu, enter a name and click "OK". Before you know it, a new IncrediMail environment will be registered on your PC without interfering with your own. You can even open another identity for yourself if you want to.

    Control your 3D effects

Now IncrediMail gives you full control over your 3D effects. 3D effects can be found throughout your IncrediMail program. If you would like to, you can activate/deactivate each of the different levels of 3D effects: reviewing emails, sending emails and opening special dialogs. Go to 'Options' from the Tool menu and in the "General" tab, click on the "Visual Settings" button. IncrediMail also offers you one-click access from within the email you are reviewing (when you open the email by double-clicking) or the email you are composing. At the top of the message, you will find the '3D effects' button. Just click/unclick to deactivate/ activate. It's as simple as that.

    Read your new messages ONLY

Now you can go through your new emails quicker. When your notifier appears, it isn’t necessary for you to stop what you are doing in order to open IncrediMail, search for your email(s) in your folders and read them one by one.Instead, simply right-click on the notifier and Select "Read New Messages". For your convenience, only the new emails that you received will open in consecutive order so that it is more convenient for you.

Make your Notifier do its thing ...

Sometimes it's been so long since you've received new mail you forget which Notifier you are using and sometimes you just want to show it off to a friend - to see your Notifier do it's thing regardless of whether or not you have new incoming mail all you have to do is hit the "Ctrl" key and the "F11" button at the same time. It's as simple as that to see the doggy bark, the babe jump head first into the water or the electronic "E" spin round and round. Animate your Notifier easily with "Ctrl + F11".

    Print message with its background

When you print your emails you can choose whether or not you want to maintain the original look of your email or completely remove the background image of the email making printing emails much more economical. Set as a default, IncrediMail does not print the background image of the email. If you would like to print the background, simply go to the 'Tools' menu, select 'Options' and under the Advanced tab check the "Print message background".

    IncrediMail's Global Hotkeys

IncrediMail has some special shortcut keys that operate even when you are using another program or application (as long as IncrediMail is running in the tray). Some of the "F" (function) keys, however, are used by other software programs and are therefore, turned off by default. To turn them on, go to Tools > Options > Advance Tab and check off the "Use IncrediMail Hotkeys" field.

    The Global Hotkeys are:
F6 - Check for new mail.
    F10 - Compose a new message.
F12 - Open IncrediMail main window
